This Privacy Policy describes how the dataset provider ("Provider", "we", "us", or "our") manages personal information of users of the "Solar Irradiance and PV Monitoring Dashboard" ("Dashboard"). You consent to these practices by registering for or using the Dashboard.

1. Information We Collect

1. Registration Information. When you register, we collect:
   • Email address
2. Website Analytics (Matomo). We use a cookie-free Matomo instance on our public website (outside the Dashboard) to collect aggregate usage statistics, such as page views, session counts, and browser types. This analytics implementation does not use cookies, does not track personal data, and does not extend to operations within the authenticated Dashboard.
3. Hosting Provider Logs. We do not actively collect usage analytics inside the Dashboard. However, our hosting provider, All-inkl, may automatically collect server logs for operational and security purposes, including IP addresses, request timestamps, requested URLs, and user-agent strings. We have no direct control over these logs.

2. How We Use Your Information

1. Administer your account. Verify registration details and manage access approval.
2. Maintain and secure the Dashboard infrastructure (including responding to support requests or security incidents).

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

1. We will not sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose information only:
   • To comply with legal requirements (e.g., court orders, law enforcement).
   • To service providers performing tasks on our behalf (e.g., email notifications), under confidentiality obligations.
   • In the event of a business transfer (e.g., sale or merger), subject to confidentiality commitments.

4. Data Retention

1. We retain registration information for as long as your account is active or as required by law.
2. Because server logs are controlled by All-inkl, retention periods are determined by their policies.
3. You may request deletion of your personal registration data by contacting marco.ernst@anu.edu.au; we will comply within 30 days, unless legal obligations require otherwise.

5. Your Rights and Choices

• Access, correct, or delete your registration data.
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.
• Withdraw consent for processing at any time (without affecting prior processing).

To exercise these rights, email marco.ernst@anu.edu.au with the subject line "Privacy Request." We may verify your identity before fulfilling requests.

6. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your registration data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Third-Party Links

The Dashboard may contain links to third-party sites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites; review their privacy practices separately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting a notice within the Dashboard or via email.
